Preserve Those Memories!

You can find one of these in just about every home: a box full of family memories in the form of VHS
tapes, film reels, slides or some other obsolete media. People tell themselves, “I should get those put on
a flash drive or DVD…” but more often than not, they don’t.

Why aren’t people getting their home movies and slides converted?

Why not? Well, the reasons are many! They don’t know how to convert old media. They don’t have a
VCR or projector anymore. They don’t have the time. They’ve heard it’s expensive. They don’t want to
ship the media out of state to convert it. The list goes on and on. Meanwhile, your family memories are sitting in a box quite literally wasting away.

Life Span of VHS Tapes and 8mm Film

Did you know that VHS video has a lifespan of about 20 years before it starts to decay? Think about that and consider that VHS has been obsolete since 2006! Super 8mm and regular 8mm film will fade and become brittle if not stored properly and many people have those old reels sitting in a damp basement or garage (or worse- an attic that is either roasting or freezing)! The slides that were so much fun to watch “back in the day” will also fade with time, warp, shrink and fall apart due to moisture or temperature extremes. All of these media can also grow mold and mildew!

How can Our City Products help with your old VHS tapes, film reels or slides?

Our City Productions has an easy and inexpensive solution to this problem. Bring your home movies and
slides to us.
We are a local film production company based in New Philadelphia, Ohio, so you don’t have to ship them and risk loss or damage.
